As many of you probably know, The Sens Store at SBP sells player's game used sticks. Well they still had a Kuba stick available, and look at the brand name "AK * TWENTY SEVEN". A stick with everyone's favourite Senator Alex Kovalev labelled right on it. That explains everything in one simple picture!
The large majority of people in Ottawa never liked Filip Kuba, always accusing him of being a lazy player that seemed disinterested in playing. Well, mystery solved!

Every Sens fan knows the Pizza Pizza promotion Ottawa always runs, team scores 6 goals you get a free slize of pizza. Late last season the Senators introduced their 2nd food promotion; if the Sens score in the last minute of regulation you get a free Wendy's Baconator.
Well in today's Pittsburgh game, the organization revealed their newest burger partner, McDonald's (replacing Wendy's from last season)! Now when the Sens score in the final minute of regulation you are entitled to a free Big Mac! The question I have is what happens if the Sens score 6+ goals and score in the final minute of regulation? Sens fans know first hand the reputation Nick Foligno has gotten for driving the net and interfering with goaltenders. Unfortunately, when it comes to referees they won't give you the benefit of the doubt once you earn that reputation. We saw that in the playoffs last year where it was probably one of the biggest turning points in the series with the Sens having the opportunity to eliminate the Rangers. Late in the 2nd Nick Foligno was wedged between two Rangers players with nowhere to go except into Henrik Lundqvist, but the result was a goalie interference penalty leading to the Rangers go ahead goal. Maybe it was one of the reasons that Bryan Murray decided to part with Foligno, who knows. It's still early in the season and it appears that Foligno's reputation followed him into Columbus. Down 2-1 to Chicago, Foligno created a perfect screen for Derick Brassard to blast one past Crawford. However, the closest referee soon waived no goal saying "he bumped Corey Crawford and didn't give him time to reset." (https://twitter.com/ChrisKuc/status/295344872343359488) This surely changed the potential outcome of the game, taking momentum away from the Jackets and eventually leading to a Chicago victory. If we take a look at a screenshot just before the puck goes in, it's clear that Foligno makes absolutely no contact with Crawford and is barely in the crease. It's unfortunate for him, but it is what it is. He's going to have a hard time shaking that monkey off his back. Meanwhile, in Ottawa we don't have to worry about it anymore and get to enjoy watching Marc Methot who is having a tremendous start to the season.
Wade Redden scored his first NHL goal since March 18, 2010 (https://twitter.com/reporterchris/status/295351151287738369) in a win over Dallas. It's nice to see him having success paired alongside Erik Karlsson West (i.e. Alex Pietrangelo). As a Sens fan I bear zero ill will towards Redden despite his play in his final years as a Senator. He gave so much to the community and provided years of consistent offensive production. As for the Chara VS Redden argument, no blame can come to him for that. It's all on John Muckler if you want to argue, as he offered the contracts. In fact, Redden should probably be praised for the fact he wanted to remain a Senator. I'm just happy he'll get to hit the 1000 NHL game milestone with my second favourite team. Heyo, decided to start a blog compiling all the random little tidbits I see around the web that are probably of interest to Sens fans. Will toss in a few photoshops every now and then as well. Might have some giveaways during the season too, so stay tuned!
